THE FIVE PILLARS OF ISLAM

PILLARS OF ISLAM

The Five Pillars of Islam guide Muslims in faith, worship, charity, and community, strengthening bond with Allah.

Shahadah (Faith)

The declaration of faith, stating that “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger.” It is the foundational belief of Islam.

Salah (Prayer)

Muslims are required to perform five daily prayers at specific times throughout the day: at dawn, midday, afternoon, sunset, and evening. This ritual connects them with Allah.

Sawm (Fasting)

During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, abstaining from food, drink, and physical needs. It is a time for spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and empathy for the less fortunate.

Zakat (Almsgiving)

Muslims are obligated to give a portion of their wealth (usually 2.5%) to those in need. This fosters social justice and supports the less fortunate.

Hajj (Pilgrimage)

Muslims who are physically and financially able are required to make a pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their lifetime.
