CUDDAPAH ISLAMIC WELFARE SOCIETY (C.I.W.S)
Cuddapah Islamic Welfare Society is a Non-Government, Non-Profit making voluntary organization established on 07-12-1984 with sincerely dedicated social workers who have broad outlook of rendering welfare to the poor and need people. The organization has got Kadapa District as its area of operation in order to achieve its Aims and Objectives.
Aims & Objectives of C.I.W.S
- Islamic faith propagation and promotion of Truth, Ruth, Social equity, Peoples equality, Integrity and unity, mutual cooperation and coordination.
- Promotion of Education, Awareness generation, Knowledge dissemination, Vocational or Skill Development Training.
- Establishing Libraries and Maintenance.
- Free Tailoring Training and Maintenance.
- Finance Assistance for the marriages of poor people.
- Various Social Service activities.
- Free Medical and Health services for the poor people.
- Micro-credit and Entrepreneurship scheme free of interest.
- Construction and maintenance of Mosques.
- Collection and distribution of Zakat.
PREVIOUS PRECIOUS SOCIAL SERVICE ACTIVITIES OF THE ORGANIZATION SINCE 23 YEARS
Islamic Faith Propagation
- Daayees (Counsellors) are appointed for Islamic Faith Propagation and to avoid misunderstandings and suspicious regarding it.
- Pamphlets, leaflets and booklets have been printed in the local language Telugu on 8 religious subject matters and distributed among the local various communities people.
- Organizing monthly two broadcasting programmes in All India Radio on the same subject matters.
- Published two books in Urdu and two books in Telugu.
- Organizing “DARS” (Qur’an messages) in 17 centres weekly once and organizing “Izthemas” (Religious meetings) especially for women in 18 centers.
- Conducting “Qhuthbas” in 18 Mosques every Friday.
Education and Training
- Philosophical Education Centre for girls has been maintained since 7 years at Kadapa by name “Jaiyathus Salihat” (Niswan). The girls of above 11 years age are studying in this center. They have hostel facility and obtaining higher education. So far 10 girls has completed 6 years course. At present 110 girl students are being trained. Among them 40 members have hostel facility.
- 15 Maktabs by name Madarasa-e-Islamiya Farooquia have been maintained in several villages approx. 450 children are learning Islamic Philosophical Education.
- An Educational Institute by name “Assalihath”, has been maintained for boys and girls. It is an English Medium School of Modern, Common education along with philosophical education.
Libraries
A library by name Mansoora has been maintained in Kadapa. Holy Qur’an-e-Shareef translation, Explanation, Description, Holy Hadiths, Fiqah books and great philosophical persons Biographies etc., are available in the library.
Many books are available for promoting integrated awareness and understanding on Islamic Faith. Moreover 35 Islamic literature centers are established in 35 various areas of District Urdu and Telugu literature are available there.
Free Tailoring Training Programmes
Ayesha Free Tailoring Training Centers” are maintained in various areas, there are 3 centers now. They serve for the genuine cause of poor and helpless girls, widow women etc., One year of Free Training along with Islamic Religious Education is being taught to them in the centers.
Financial help for poor people’s marriages
Some financial help is provided during the marriages of the poor people as 20-25 marriages per year.
And finally counseling is given to solve the family problems for example disputes in between wife and husband among in-laws etc.
Various Social Service Activities
- Collecting Fitra every year on the occasion of Id-ul-fitra from the people and distributing for the widows and orphans as per head Rs.100/- in 50 villages. Last year Rs.1,50,000/- amount was distributed.
- Organized Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation Programme for the flood affected victims in Kadapa since 23 years. We served in two big such like disasters. We conducted integrated survey and helping 800 poor families irrespective of caste, religion etc.,
- Provided Rs.50,000/- humanitarian cash help for some of the worst earthquake victims in Gujarat and provided Rs.85,000/- cash help for the victims of the worst schisms or Hindu Muslim riots in Gujarat in 2002.
- Provided Humanitarian Financial Help to 50 poor families for fire disaster in cash and kind.
HEALTH AND MEDICAL SERVICES
Every year 3 medical camps are organized on behalf of the society, Medical checkups, Diagnosis, Prescriptions, Referral services, Health Guidance, Distribution of the prescribed medicine are provided. So far Rs.3,00,000/- (Rupees three lakhs) are spent for various kinds of operations.
Since 23 years provided Small Scale Micro Credit Loans for 50 petty business men as per head Rs.500/- or Rs.1000/-. This programme is not conducted now due to lack of proper rapport and support of the local people.
Constructed 27 mosques in different areas since 23 years. Appointed and maintaining Imams and Mouzans in 8 mosques and appointed 13 Khateebs (Mosques gives) for Friday Namaz in 13 mosques. Among them one speech is delivered in Telugu for better understanding of the local people.
Every year in Ramadhan month in various areas Sehary and Ifthar are arranged for the fasting devotees. Around 2000 devotees participate in this holy ceremony.
Every year all over the district mass Qurbanies are performed and leathers of the Qurbani animals are collected from the local Donars.
Free Circumcision Programme
Organizing free circumcision according to the Islamic Tradition for 500 boys every year and providing the with required medicine and nutrition etc.,
